Remembrance Day Service

The Remembrance Day Service will commence at 10:45 AM, featuring a solemn ceremony to honor those who have served and sacrificed in military conflicts. Following the service, there will be an unveiling of plaques on our Wall of Remembrance, dedicated to commemorating the bravery and service of our armed forces.

Invitation: All members, service and ex-service personnel, as well as members of the community, are warmly invited to attend this significant event. Your presence will contribute to a collective act of remembrance and respect for the courage and sacrifices of our military personnel.

Schedule:

• 10:30 AM: Arrival of guests and community members.
• 10:45 AM: Commencement of the Remembrance Day Service.
  • Opening remarks and introduction.
  • Reading of the Remembrance Day address.
  • Recitation of the Ode of Remembrance.
  • Playing of the Last Post.
  • Observance of a minute of silence.
  • Playing of the Rouse.
• 11:15 AM: Unveiling of the plaques on the Wall of Remembrance.
  • Remarks by distinguished guests and officials.
  • Ceremony of unveiling the plaques.
  • Closing remarks and thanks.

Significance: Remembrance Day, observed on November 11th, marks the anniversary of the armistice which ended the First World War in 1918. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the cost of war and the importance of peace. The ceremony and unveiling are meant to honor not only those who fought and died in the world wars but also all who have served in subsequent conflicts and peacekeeping missions.

Participation: We encourage all attendees to participate in the minute of silence and other ceremonial activities. This day is an opportunity for the community to come together, reflect on our history, and pay tribute to those who have served our nation.
