Honouring the Legacy of the 44th Battalion
The 44th Australian Infantry Battalion Memorial invites the public, veterans, and their families to attend the 2025 Memorial Ceremony to commemorate the service and sacrifice of the men of the 44th Battalion.
The 44th Battalion was raised in Claremont in 1915, with over 2,800 soldiers departing from Western Australia during the First World War. Sadly, more than 480 did not return home. This ceremony honours their courage and enduring legacy.
The event will be attended by His Excellency the Governor, along with Members of Parliament, Defence Force representatives, an Honour Guard, and a military band.
