The North Beach RSL Open Day 2025 was held on Sunday, 19th October at Charles Riley Memorial Reserve, next to the North Beach Memorial and Wall of Remembrance. With the rain holding off, members, families and visitors gathered for a relaxed afternoon celebrating community, connection, and veteran wellbeing.
The event was designed to highlight the activities of the North Beach RSL Sub-Branch, showcase the advantages of being a member, and raise awareness of the many services available to veterans and their families. It also aimed to strengthen community understanding of what the RSL stands for and how it supports current and former service members.
In the weeks leading up to the North Beach RSL Open Day 2025, the Sub-Branch promoted the event through local veteran networks, community boards, and social media. This outreach helped attract a steady stream of visitors from the veteran community, including younger veterans and their families.

- 🚙 Four-wheel-drive vehicles with camping setups, sparking interest in the popular Bush Bash event that takes members out to explore WA’s great outdoors.
- 🪖 Membership and information desks, where visitors could learn more about joining the North Beach RSL and the benefits of becoming part of the veteran community.

- 🤝 TPI Association and Partners of Veterans Association, sharing details about their programs and community support services.
- 🌭 Free sausage sizzle, generously cooked and served by the North Beach Lions Club, adding a relaxed community feel to the afternoon.
The event offered a welcoming and informal space for new faces to learn about what we do and for current members to reconnect over shared interests.
Community Connection and Camaraderie
Over the course of the event, visitors enjoyed an easygoing atmosphere filled with conversation, laughter and shared experiences. Veterans reconnected with old mates, families discovered new support networks, and newcomers gained insight into what the North Beach Sub-Branch has to offer.
The North Beach RSL Open Day 2025 clearly demonstrated how vital community connection is for veteran wellbeing. It also showed the strength of partnerships between the RSL, service organisations, and local volunteer groups that work together to support veterans and their families.
A Successful Day for the Veteran Community
