PARTNERS OF VETERANS
Friday 17th December was a pretty special Day for Bev Benporath & Evette House who are National Board members of the Partners of Veterans Association of Australia.
On this day the Hon Kim Beasley, Governor of WA unveiled the Partners of Veterans Plaque at ANZAC Central in Perth. The Plaque is made of Bronze with Enamel Motifs, their motto is:
“FOR THOSE WHO STAND BESIDE THEM”
David House was fortunate to be invited to the event, the Governor’s speech was very moving as he outlined the role that the Partners of ADF personnel play. Partners often go unrecognised by many.
Their Motto says it all. It has taken a long time for recognition to happen, but as you walk past ANZAC House in St Georges Tce, step into the courtyard named “Poppy Lane” and take a moment to reflect on the Service that our Partners have played for Australia.
This is the first official Plaque to be displayed in Poppy Lane.
